Wildlands is so close, yet so far from being a game-changing title in the world of tactical shooters. Features that have been talked about on this sub, both well before and after release still are nowhere to be seen. It literally is a different game mode. So, here we are almost two months after release and the game still has a chance to turn things around.

Almost two months after release we get a DLC that is not even the same game. Instead, in typical Ubisoft fashion they decided to churn out an unfinished game and stuff DLC microtransactions down our throats. Think about it, if Wildlands came even close to delivering what the game was hyped up to be, imagine what they could continue to do with the Ghost Recon franchise? Fans would be chomping at the bit to preorder the next Ghost Recon title. This game had the biggest open beta participation in Ubisoft history and they failed to take advantage of it. This is not a bashing of this game, but rather a discussion of how Ubisoft had a chance to succeed in the long term rather than make a quick buck in the short term.In an era of games that focus on fast-paced shooters, mostly FPS, Wildlands had a chance to capture a huge demographic of gamers that were (still are) looking for a semi-realistic, (3rd person) military style tactical shooter.Ubisoft had all the time in the world to develop Wildlands into a game that had the potential to become the new crown of tactical shooters for the console generation. I have been gaming pretty much my entire life and I can’t remember a game that has had so much potential, only to fall on it’s face. via /r/GhostRecon reddit ghost recon ghostreconwildlands wildlands ghostrecon games gaming

#GHOST RECON WILDLANDS PRELOAD SERIES#

The only series that they haven’t done this with is Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed. What do you guys think of the recent Ubisoft game names, or what do you think about my rant?EDIT : While writing this I didn’t think about The Division which is a new IP… My stance still holds thought. They don’t have to just run with already existing IPs.

If they named Rainbow six: Seige just, Seige, people still would have bought it. The only problem is, we also played the other ghost recon games and noticed that while we love this game, it isn’t a ghost recon game. For Some reason the last couple Ubisoft games have been fun… but not what they are named after…Rainbow Six: Seige - Amazing and fun game, not a rainbow six game.Ghost Recon: Wildlands - Another Great fun game, but not a Ghost Recon game. And don’t even get me started on the disaster that is Far Cry: Primal… If Primal wasn’t a “Far Cry” game I think it would be great, but when they took the fun island shooter and turned it into a cave man story, I was really mad and didn’t enjoy myself playing since I was comparing it to the old ones.My theory is that Ubisoft is scared… They are still good at making games, but they don’t want to put the new games under new series’ because they think they will sell lessThe problem is, I don’t think anyone would care! If they just named this game something else like, just Wildlands, and showed trailer footage of it being a team shooter LIKE ghost recon then I feel people still would have bought it. I love Ghost Recon: Wildlands, for the last week me and my friends have been playing it every day together.
